Balik Kampung

The boys from Lahkmans Grocery Store just outside our place, they have all left the villages to work here. Working six full days a week, from 7.30am to 11.00pm, and a break of two hours in the afternoon for lunch, a shower and possibly a nap.

Living condition is not exactly good but I would think it is above average for the standards in this country. Each is given a room, 2metres by 3metres - a bed and a table. Their prized possession would be their radio, and a couple of photographs they brought from home. It is probably better than staying back in their villages and fighting for food with their siblings.
