Acupuncture Day

I was feeling ok, nothing major... just that I came across a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinic & thought I should check with the Chinese Physician if he could do anything for me about my leg, or lower-back ache.

I was hoping for some Tui Na but I got acupuncture treatment instead. The poking was pretty ok, almost pain-free. But, it was the 'tuning' of the needles that gave me so much pain. I know that was supposed to let the 'chi' or the blood in the system going, but I really didn't enjoy that pain. 

Picture below: I had five needles in my buttock & 2 needles in my left calf. 

And, a heat-emitting lamp to ensure I got a nice hot bum... yea, you would think eh...

To be honest, I don't think I will go for it again. The effect is not as good as Tui Na, which the Chinese Physician indicated might have adverse effect. But I felt better after a painful Tui Na than a acupuncture treatment. 

Comment, suggestion, words of wisdom... anyone?

Year - 1991

I was in my Final Year at the Poly, and was blessed to have the OUB Centre project to study the M&E (Building Services).

During that time, neither UOB Plaza or Republic Plaza were constructed. Thus, OUB Centre (at 280m) stood as the Tallest Building in Singapore. OUB Centre is still the tallest, with UOB Plaza & Republic Plaza tie for the first place.

Oh man... the feeling of standing right up there, with my fist up in the air - priceless.

Pups @ Day 41 Probably one of the longest breaks between posts... I've been really busy feeding the pups, cleaning them, the place. Trust me, it is a real full time job - 24 hours on-call. I could post pictures of the amount of shit I have collected in an hour from the 10 pups, or the pool of urine, etc... but those are simply not blogging worthiness.
I should have time my OWN time to do my OWN things... which I do. I drugged myself with Polaramine, which reduces my sneezing problem. I am currently taking this pill due to my allergies and my contacts with Bodhi and her pups. I shower at least 6 times a day, but still not enough to stop my sneezing problem.

So, please pardon me if I have been slack in my email reply, or if I have been ignoring you.

Sorry for the long absence... my laptop finally had it, and all my data of 6 years went with it as well.

And NO, I did not back it up.

I am working with a new laptop now, and still trying to get my act together. Thus, my posts/updates have been a bit more sporadic for the last couple of months. Yes, it takes me that long to recover...

I am trying to move on (LoL), so that I can work on organising Alan's 40th party.

Norman bought me this T-Shirt and shorts for my birthday, the yellow LEE T-Shirt is nice, funky and fashionable. And the blue Adidas shorts is comfy and fits nicely.

Norman actually went out of the way to get my gift, he finished work at 8pm and rushed to get the gift and almost missed the cut-off time for water supply for his shower.

Just got back from scaling and polishing, thought I'd flash a smile for the camera.

The dental visit reminded me of the time I used to be called up at primary school (about 28 years ago), and the equipment used in this dental clinic was pretty much the same too.

I was an unwilling visitor to the dental clinic when I was in the primary school, but not now. However, the pain was was something I am not keen to be reminded of. If any consolation, I paid Rs1000 (USD 10 approx) instead of SGD40 (USD 30 approx). Will I visit thrice as often? You may have to drag me there...

One year of blogging with 224 posts.

A summary of what I had blogged the whole year:

I started with a keen interest in Bodhi and her stages of development;

about food and sometimes with recipes;

about the various things in our garden here in Sri Lanka;

about new friends, celebrations, and parties; and

about our travels, etc. etc.

After more than 3 months of patience and waiting to find a replacement for my lost Treo 600, I have finally bought the Treo 680.

I would have to say that the background colour stands out - even after all these years. Alan painted the wall (all by himself) in the year 2001. Five years on, the paintwork is still great and the colour remains vibrant. I do not question Alan's creativity nor his vision - he's the man in those departments; I, on the other hand, work on numbers $$$; obstacles & issues; and playing supportive role to ensure that OUR visions are realised. That's probably the best partnership I could ever ask for.
Come 22 August 2006 would be our 8th Anniversary, how time flies... :)

That's it! Quite a waste of money on LASIK surgery in 2003. It's confirmed, the astigmatism is slowly creeping back, and early symptom of Hyperopia - farsightedness. Rightfully, there should be another 4 years of perfect vision for me before Hyperopia. I guess my eyesight was over-corrected by LASIK... :(
Well, I had LASIK very late - 33 years old - I should have done it when I was 21 years of age. I strongly encourage my nieces and nephews to get them done when they turn 21.
(Hint: start saving!!!)

Alan worked half day and spent the afternoon with me. We went to Dankotuwa but there was nothing to buy - a bit disappointed.

We rested at home till evening, and invited the boys to have a drink with us. Martin, the owner was super-nice, he gave me (and company) a nice surprise - dessert for all, and mine was ultra-special, a candle to blow out for the birthday boy. Thank you Martin!

My First Birthday in Sri Lanka...
All I can think of since this morning is food. Alan asked what I would like to do, I could only think of food... I also made double chocolate muffins this morning, 'bestest' is how Sathees put it. I must say I am pretty happy with it as well.

Thank you all for your wonderful gifts, SMSes, e-mails, e-cards, greetings... You know who you are.

Surprisingly, the remaining 2 girls (Sula & Agupy) are now back to laying eggs. We thought they were going on strike for a longer period.

Let's hope this new chick will offer some eggs soon.
