I've been trying hard not to put this online till the case is closed, which it has now.

22 May: Sathees quitted his job, which seemed odd to Alan.
23 May: Discovered our money & jewellery missing from locked place. Went to Sathees and John's place asking Sathees to return the items that he had stolen, which he denied any and blamed on our friends, which is so typical of Sathees.
Also, his wife caught him cheating and having 3 women and a kid, which Sathees and his friends brought in from the village to stay in Negombo.
24 May: Gave him till 2 pm to surrender the stolen items, but to no avail. Thus, Alan filed the police report.

The case went on for a week, and Sathees still claimed he was innocent.

4 June: Police found the pawn shops that Sathees (and his wife) sold the rings to, all in separate locations. Alan was asked to identify the items, Sathees still didn't apologise nor acknowledge that he stole the items. He claimed it was the first time he did that. However, the Police produced copies of the receipt that he sold the rings on 3 separate occasions i.e. 6 months ago was the first offence; 2 months ago he stole again; and 3rd time stealing was only 2 weeks ago (including cash), and his wife was also involved in the selling transaction.

7 June: Sathees to appear in court and to find out his destiny.

UPDATE: Sathees has a 2 weeks jail sentence for his offence, and will have to appear in court again after his release. Apparently, this will go on for a couple of times and he might end up in the prison again.

Because of Sathees' constant greed and his show-off arrogance, he caused more pain to his family members and loved ones. His wife was hurt emotionally as he was womanising with not one but three, plus a kid involved. Also, his daughter would probably not be able to attend the new school now that Sathees has been found guilty. Friends and family members will never look at Sathees the same way, they believed he was the innocent party (so, we were the bad guys) but the truth came to light.

We kept trusting Sathees even when friends warned us, I guess that was why Sathees' family stood by him as well. I sincerely hope he would rid of his drugs problem, family issues and lead an honest life. There's only so much that you can get away with things in life.
